FOR THE FUTURE OF OSSINING

CONTROL FUTURE TAXES

  1. Consolidate Village and Town of Ossining Police, Public Works and Highway, and Parks Departments; Dissolve Village Court
  2. Create coterminous Village/Town

BROADEN VILLAGE TAX BASE WITH COMMERCIAL AND RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT

  1. Hire Downtown Manager funded by new resident/merchant not-for-profit and Downtown Development Fund
  2. Develop riverfront guaranteeing real access for everyone to a mix of housing, Riverwalk, parks, restaurants, docks, and marinas; preserve views
  3. Implement new Comprehensive Plan and Zoning changes with exciting and sensible development Downtown Historic District

IMPLEMENT ENVIRONMENTAL ACTION PLAN

  1. Invest in our reservoir, dam, purification plant, water delivery system, Sanitary and storm sewers, sidewalks, roads, and other infrastructure
  2. Promote construction of new "green" housing for all economic groups while encouraging "sustainable energy" restoration of existing homes
  3. Preserve, improve, and enlarge our existing parks system throughout the Village

INVEST IN SAFETY

  1. Enforce building codes to protect lives and property of residents, merchants, volunteer firefighters, emergency medical personnel, and police
  2. Renovate aging firehouses; build new ones where most needed
